The young dutch company Praxtour has developed bicycle-ergometers for professional use, which offer ergonomically correct training bikes, but most importantly real time simulated routes to retrace while all the relevant training data is recorded, and resistance and natural scenery are adapted to the driven distance. So you don´t have to travel to the Galibier to be able to train on the hardest leg of the Tour de France.
I have one at my Gym, it's a fabulous piece of engineering!
